Lina Baker - Bio

The heart of A & E Tennis Academy is its Founder and Head Teaching Professional, Lina Baker.  A longtime tennis player and PTR certified Professional - and now the Assistant Coach of Douglas County High School Girl's Tennis team - tennis has been a part of Lina's life from a very young age.  From her first tennis tournaments at age 7 to volunteer teaching with local organizations, Lina knows what it takes to be a quality tennis instructor.  Most importantly, one of the guidelines that Lina has set for all A & E Tennis Academy instruction is that being a good tennis player is not the same as being a good instructor.  As a ranked junior and adult player Lina understands the demands of being a competitive tennis player.  However, at the same time, she also knows that teaching tennis takes good communication, knowledge of basic techniques and new methods of teaching and learning.  Couple this with the need to be able to understand each individual's needs and goals for tennis and tailor the instruction so as to bring each student to his or her greatest potential, and you will see the difference in A & E Tennis Academy's approach.

As a resident of Castle Rock, an active member of the Denver-Metro and also the local tennis community, the town's tennis instructor, and a mom, Lina understands what is wanted and needed by the Castle Rock tennis community.
